Year 10 Students Participate in Gael Linn Tráth na gCeist

On Friday 25^th January 2020 4 cailíní from 10J took the journey to the Ashburn Hotel, Lurgan to compete in the Ulster Final of the Gael Linn Tráth na gCeist. Aimee Hughes, Katie McConnell, Maria McCoubrey and Rianna Savage all got to this stage after winning the Iarthar Bhéal Feirste heat in October 2019, emerging on top in the Irish language general knowledge quiz in which they competed against several other teams.  Whilst this was a place to use and experience Irish in an informal and light-hearted way, Foireann Naomh Labhaoise showed their competitive side from the minute the door slid closed on the taxi bus, practicing general knowledge questions on sport, music, popular culture, politics, and generalities the whole journey down (confusing Mr O’Flaherty on many occasions with their in depth knowledge of Justin Bieber and his life story).  Even though the team from Coláiste Naomh Labhaoise did not emerge victorious on the day the girseacha put on a display which was a credit to themselves and their school.[templatera id=”43″]
