Sharing Smiles at Christmas – Year 12 LLW Project

Sharing Smiles at Christmas

Year 12 Learning for Life and Work students have been learning about social responsibility and how young people can contribute to society as part of their GCSE studies.  Miss Cushnahan’ s year 12 class wanted to give back to their community and decided upon a project they have entitled; ‘Sharing Smiles at Christmas’.  The students spent time writing beautiful Christmas letters to the residents of Our Lady’s Nursing home in Beechmount and Parkmanor Nursing home, Dunmurry.  This was important to the students as they were aware that the residents have been apart from friends and beloved family members for such a long time.  Students were adamant that they wanted the residents to know that they are in their thoughts and prayers.  The aim was to lift their spirits throughout the Christmas period and wish the residents a peaceful New Year.  The students wanted to spread some joy and cheer in the hope that their letters will bring a smile to the faces of the residents.  They are passionate about making difference, no matter how small that may be.

WE ARE ALL IN THIS TOGETHER!
