Notice for Parents Regarding Climate Strike

In relation to the proposed Climate Change Rally in Belfast tomorrow, while parents may encourage their sons/daughters to take part in the rally, this is not encouraged by the Department of Education and they have advised that schools should record any pupil absence as an unauthorised absence. In terms of Safeguarding, our policies remain in place and the normal procedures apply in terms of leaving school.  Students must have a letter requesting the period of absence and be collected by their parent at the stated time from reception.
