Our mission is providing young people with unique opportunities to develop an insight into our Health and Social Care and Early Years sector. With a focus on communication, human rights, physiology, social policy and health promotion, we aim to produce responsible, knowledgeable and caring citizens who may one day meaningfully impact Healthcare and Education settings.
This course focuses on the knowledge and understanding of the skills needed to work in the Health and Social Care and Early Years sectors. Students will focus on human development through the main age stages, factors that impact development, major life changes and sources of support available to people. Students also consider how health and social care services can meet a range of service users' needs as well as safeguarding issues when working in Health and Social Care.

It gives students the opportunity to study a diverse range of subjects, including communication, physiology, social policy and health promotion, and develop skills including research, investigation, and analysis. In the AS units, students explore values of care, learn about key concepts of health and wellbeing and the impact of health and ill health on individuals. At A2 students will explore the physiology of health, services provided in the health and social care system and health promotion.
For a full GCE Single Award qualification students must complete six units: three at AS level and three at A2. For a full GCE Double Award qualification 12 units are required: six at AS level and six at A2.
