Music Department

The Music Department is a very active and busy department with three teachers and six visiting tutors.  The Music Department staff comprises of, Mrs Hogarty, Mr McCay and Miss O’Neill (HOD).

All students study Music at KS3 and can then choose to continue with their study of the subject at GCSE and A’ Level. Alongside this, students can develop their practical skills with weekly lessons offered in strings, woodwind, singing and traditional music.

In recent years, many of our students have gone on to study Music at third level and have built successful careers, particularly within the areas of teaching and performing.  There is no doubt that music is key in building confidence and commitment and helps develop a wide variety of skills, which we can apply in whatever career path we may take when we leave school.
