BTEC First Certificate in Performing Arts. (DANCE)
This course provides a Double Award GCSE qualification. The kind of student that will benefit from this course are those who are interested in Dance as a performing art. No previous dance experience is required but enthusiasm to develop a wide range of dance skills is desired. Students will need to demonstrate a commitment and a desire to perform and work with others to benefit from this course. Students will extend their learning by working with extra curricula Dance activities. Opportunities will be provided for Accelerated entry to GCSE Dance by audition. They will gain a triple award in dance studies at KEY stage 4 
Performing Dance Students will rehearse and perform dances in at least two different styles. Contemporary Dance Students will learn technical and interpretive skills which will prepare them for effective performances. Understanding Dance Students will study the form and structure of dances by appreciating and creating new dances for themselves and others. Please Note. Students interested in pursuing this BTEC course MUST inform their Drama Teacher and obtain an application form from Mrs Nelson or Mrs Mannion. (In the event of over subscription it may be necessary to audition for a place on this course |
